קְלִיעָהMathemagical braiding strategies for your next challah.
Challah is a braided Jewish bread made weekly for the Shabbat dinner table. One reason I love challah so much is that no two loaves are exactly the same. Use my tool below to explore fancy patterns. The possibilities are endless!
If you've never made challah before, check out my not-so-secret recipies. 🥖
Classic
Periodic, balanced, and beautiful. The traditional Jewish braid.

Thue–Morse
Aperiodic, balanced, and quasicrystalline. Aesthetically very pretty while still feeling mathy.

Fibonacci
Aperiodic, unbalanced, and you get to say the name “Fibonacci.”
Chaotic
Random, but with a balanced number of twists.
